Grab a glass of red and settle into a blog or two, browse through websites with my print on them, and enjoy just a few of the words these fingers have penned over the last few years. Light entertainment included. Then once you’re sated, drop me a line to see how we can work together.
Website copy
Weaving together a scientific and holistic approach to wellbeing, S.V Holistic required website copy that was professional yet welcoming, that communicated their values and felt like a warm hug to people looking for guidance along heir health journey.
For this one, I worked with Dome Yoga to provide their full website build, including both the copy and design. (Disclaimer, brand build and design was sorted already, I just pulled a website out of it.) As well as being the local yoga and meditation studio based in Hāwea, Dome also offers birth support and doula services.
A classical music festival held annually in the Queenstown Lakes District, the AWE Festival weaves the beauty of chamber music with the majestic backdrop of the Southern Alps. A client of Brand+Butter, I was responsible for the original website copy in 2021, as well as all future updates across the 2022 and 2023 festivals. As well as project managing their wider marketing campaigns, but that’s another story.
Brand strategy
With my Brand+Butter hat on, I developed a comprehensive digital channel strategy for Tiaki Tours, a South Island tour operator. This included market positioning; audience research; brand development; setting marketing objectives; creating customer journeys; and crafting a complete channel plan across website, SEO, paid media and organic media.
As Communications Manager, I created, refined and implemented a successful brand strategy for Te Wāhi Toi, the digital hub for all things arts, culture and creativity in the Queenstown Lakes District. This included refining brand assets and design; researching target audience insights; market positioning; establishing design and social media guidelines; creating content for both digital and print assets; and developing a marketing strategy that drives audience growth.
Project management
As Digital Communications Manager for the Three Lakes Cultural Trust, I managed the successful launch of Te Wāhi Toi / The Arts Place in the Queenstown Lakes District. As the What’s On guide and Creative Directory for all things arts, culture and creativity, this included crafting Brand and Social Guidelines; launching and managing social campaigns; creating content for blogs, news articles and social media; website management; creating and distributing print assets; and managing audience growth across the board.
As the official Regional Tourism Organisation for Wānaka, we worked with Lake Wānaka Tourism to manage marketing collateral across both social media and online blogs. This involved managing timelines up to three months in advance; interviewing and creating content for monthly blogs; managing social media platforms with upwards of 73k followers; reporting on audience trends; and liaising with the RTO to ensure a consistent brand identity across all avenues.
Alongside writing their website copy, I also managed a big part of the AWE Festival’s marketing campaigns from 2022 - 2024, with the support of Brand + Butter. This included spearheading marketing timelines, managing external contractors, liaising with clients, managing the creation of marketing collateral including digital and print assets, and making sure the whole lot ran smooth. It’s a multi-hat job.
Blogs
Gather & Gold offer tipis for every occasion - but weddings in Central Otago are really their thing. I’ve written many a blog for G&G, dishing up everything from Planning Marquee Weddings to Why You’re Now Obsessed with Sailcloth Tents. Info and insights from G&G, ink from me.
Bring on Monday rule the small business accounting world in all the best (and most fun) ways. I’ve ghostwritten several of their blogs (they bring the info, I bring the rest) discussing everything from Tax Return Guides to my personal favourite: Futuristic Accounting Robots. Kind of.
Brand+Butter are a brand agency for change and the good guys of the marketing world. I plug into Brand+Butter for a range of work, including writing insightful blogs that cleverly communicate their values, share their ethos with the ether, and are actually easy to read. Like this one, all about Social Media vs Social Good.
News articles
I research, write, and publish the news articles for the Three Lakes Cultural Trust - a Trust set up to nurture the growth of arts and culture in the Queenstown Lakes District and beyond. Their articles keep the community informed on important events, spotlight creatives in the community, and share internal updates from the Trust.
I also craft the content and copy for all Te Wāhi Toi news articles. Their goal is to provide a central online hub for all things arts, culture and creativity in the district, and their news section reflects this. I write informative, insightful, and engaging articles that shine a spotlight on the creative happenings in our community.
